I've been a freelance writer since 2010. I've written about local news, small business, arts and food for the Southeast Examiner newspaper of Portland. I've also provided commercial writing, including content, blogging and articles for websites covering a wide range of topics, such as environmental matters, food preservation, gardening and homesteading. I've also written about Permaculture and community supported agriculture for The Food Garden, an organic, Biodynamic farm based in Australia. I've authored e-books, written copy for apps and provided engaging, to-spec SEO content for small businesses and large companies alike. I've also written feature content, most recently for the bike magazine Momentum.
As a journalist, I want to employ increasingly diverse and fluid media to not only tell stories, but do so more completely and target audiences more precisely. I also want to try a variety of story forms and continue honing my language, translating the real world to the written word.
As a commercial freelancer, I will train skills learned in the field towards making information clear, exact, interesting and specific to your desired audience.
I have a new post about Elizabeth Taylor's 1954 film "The Last Time I Saw Paris," which was based on a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
